چکیده

Relaying has been proposed to support users suffering from high shadowing or high interference and therefore being not able to receive high data rates. With adaptive relaying, a higher Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) can be used in order to increase the feasible data rate. The investigation of relaying techniques widely has concentrated on information theoretical methods. Instead, this paper focuses on system level simulations to analyse the achievable results within a realistic environment. The question where to locate the Relay Stations is investigated and the achievable system performance is outlined. We show that relaying techniques can improve the median cell throughput and decrease the outage probability. Cooperative relaying results in the lowest outage probability, whereas the introduced concept of Dynamic Resource Relaying (DRR) offers a higher cell throughput. For the investigated LTE (3GPP Long Term Evolution) system with a frequency re-use factor of one, the outage probability can be decreased by using relaying and no further frequency planning is required.

Performance Analysis of cooperative SWIPT System: Intelligent Reflecting Surface versus Decode-and-Forward

In this paper, we explore the impacts of utilizing intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRS) in a power-splitting based simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (PS-SWIPT) system and compare its performance with the traditional decode and forward relaying system. To analyze a more practical system, it is also assumed that the receiving nodes are subject to decoding cost, and they are on...

Cooperative Diversity Relaying Techniques in Wireless Communication Networks

In wireless networks, link budget can be relaxed by delivering the data using intermediate relay nodes. Although the immediate purpose of relaying is to obtain gain against path loss, it can also create spatial diversity due to the broadcast nature of the wireless medium. The objective of this work is to design and analyze relaying protocols that induce e2e cooperative diversity for ad hoc and ...

On the performance of cooperative relaying protocols in wireless networks

Cooperative relaying recently emerged as a viable option for future wireless networks. By simultaneously exploiting path loss savings known from relaying scenarios and the diversity inherent to any scheme involving spatially separated transmitters, this technique is able to leverage gains from both relaying and spatial diversity techniques. In this paper, we study different cooperative relaying...

Performance Analysis of Wireless Cooperative Networks with Iterative Incremental Relay Selection

In this paper, an iterative incremental relay selection (IIRS) scheme is considered for wireless cooperative networks in order to increase the reliability of transmission. Different from the conventional incremental relay selection which incrementally selects a best relay for only one iteration; the IIRS scheme iteratively applies the incremental relaying and relay selection processes. To evalu...
